 Submitting Log Grades for the 11th and 12th Grades ONLY
The Testing Dept. requires teachers to submit the grades of the Log (11th and 12th grades only) on form 9588 TWO days prior to the date of the English Bagrut exams (May 11th).  Due to the fact that the date of the Bagrut exam comes after Lag Be'omer and the weekend, grades need to be submitted to the tachanat klita no later than May 6, 2015.  (posted April 2015).

 According to what I was told by the Testing Dept., all the forms now have one number: 9588 (for the oral exam and for the Log). If you have already filled out a form with a different number, it will be accepted this moed. The format of the form hasn't changed, just the number, in order to make things a bit easier..! Please make sure to make a copy of the form to keep at school. It is no longer necessary to send this form, or form 13, to your English Inspector. (posted April 2015).

 Dear teachers,

Many of you have asked me how the final grades for 3, 4, and 5 points are calculated.  Below is the explanation.  Please note that this is only for students who are in the 11th and 12th grades this year.  Hope you find this useful!

Three Points
A = 27%
B = 26%
C = 27%
Oral exam = 20%
TOTAL:  100%

Four Points
C = 27%
D = 26%
E = 27%
Oral exam = 20%
TOTAL:  100%

Five Points
E = 27%
F = 26%
G = 27%
Oral exam - 20%
TOTAL:  100%     (posted April 2015)

 Update about the Forms for the Oral Bagrut
Starting this year, the Testing Dept. requires that grades for the Oral Bagrut be recorded on form 9555.  The English Inspectorate also required filling out form 13 as in the past, with the idea being that this would help in the transition to filling in the new form because testers could see what grades they were giving (which doesn't happen on form 9555 when each grade is out of 100).  However, based on teachers' feedback, filling in form 13 is now confusing and is not helping teachers as we thought it would.  Therefore, it is no longer compulsory to fill in form 13 as of moed summer 2015.

Wishing your students good luck with the oral exam!

 Please note:  The rubrics for the oral exam have been re-posted.  Thank you to Natalia Pinchevsky who sent me a teacher-friendly version in light of the changes of having to give a grade out of 100.  Thanks Natalie.  (posted December, 2014)

 Reminder:  As in the past, schools need to keep a copy of form 13 and also to send a copy to the English Inspector of your school.  There have been many cases this year of mistakes that schools have made regarding the Oral Exam, and in order for the Testing Dept. to make the corrections, schools need to send this form.  So please, keep in a safe place :)  (posted December, 2014)

 Dear Teachers,

As already announced, the Testing Dept. has a new form (9555) for marking the oral exam.

On the form 9555, grades for each of the five criteria need to be given out of 100 points. After the grades are sent in to the Testing Dept., the computer converts each of the grades according to the weights they were given. In this case, 20% for each of the criteria.
The tester does NOT calculate the final grade.  S/he only fills in how many points (out of 100) for each of the criterion.

The following is a breakdown of what each question represents:
Question 1 - Interview - Accuracy
Question 2 - Interview - Communicative Ability
Question 3 - Project Presentation
Question 4 - Project Accuracy
Question 5 - Project - Interaction

This is a powerpoint from the Marvad, explaining the process, the revised rubrics (which are now out of 100), the 9555 form, the 13 form, where the grades are kept at 20 so that teachers can see what the final grade is.  Please note that there is a conversion table at the end of the document of the rubrics which lets you know if you want to give, for example 18 points, how many points that will be out of 100.

If you need any help, there is a moked for questions at the Marvad:
 03-5300804, 03-5300805, 035300815

Wishing your students good luck!
Judy    (posted December 2014)

The Testing Dept. has changed the forms for reporting the grades for the Oral Exam (9555) and for the Oral LD exam for special education students, nivchane mishne and external students (9544).  Please make sure to fill out the correct forms!

Lots of good luck to your students!
